What is Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY)?
Trauma-sensitive yoga is a gentle, body-based practice designed to help individuals reconnect with themselves in a way that feels safe, empowering and supportive. Unlike traditional yoga, this approach emphasises choice and awareness, encouraging practitioners to move at their own pace, without pressure or expectation. Through guided, conscious movement, clients can begin to rebuild a sense of trust in their bodies.
With over eight years of experience teaching yoga to individuals of all abilities and backgrounds, I bring a compassionate and inclusive approach to every session. I start by completing an assessment with you so that you can tell me about what has brought you here. This allows you to get to know me, and how the practice unfolds.
My focus is on creating a welcoming space where clients feel respected, and empowered to explore what feels right for them - no prior yoga experience necessary, just a willingness to begin.

Key Features of Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

A no-touch practice – There will be no physical adjustments.

Privacy and comfort – You will not be observed; I will practice alongside you.

No obligation to share – There is no expectation to discuss your past experiences.

A stable, predictable environment – I will remain in one place throughout the session.

No traditional yoga elements – Sessions do not include yoga attire, Sanskrit terminology, incense, or music.

Wear what feels comfortable – You are welcome to practice in everyday clothing, such as jeans.

Personalised approach – Before beginning trauma-sensitive yoga, we will have a discussion to understand your needs and how this practice can best support you.
