therapy

the approach
I have a wealth of experience across different settings, including private practice and charity organisations. I offer therapy remotely and face-to-face, working with men, women, non-binary people, and the LGBTQI+ community.

At the heart of my work is person-centred psychotherapy, which is based on the belief that every person has their own inner wisdom and the capacity for growth. I see my role as providing a safe, down-to-earth and authentic space where you feel heard, valued, and accepted. Through this, you can build confidence in your own decisions and deepen your understanding of yourself.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel like a daunting step, which is why our work together will move at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’ll regularly check in to ensure it continues to feel supportive and helpful. You’re always welcome to share any thoughts or feelings about how the process is going. There’s no pressure to dive into anything before you’re ready—my role is to respect and honour your unique pace and experience.
Sometimes, words alone don’t capture what we’re feeling. That’s why I also offer creative approaches to self-expression, such as doodling or collage. These methods can be particularly helpful when emotions feel too complex to put into words. Creativity in therapy is always invitational—if talking is what feels right for you, that’s absolutely enough.

specialist areas
I have a particular passion in working with women's issues. This includes, cisgender, transgender and anyone who has had an experience of womanhood. These experiences may include:
-
Low self-esteem and self-worth
-
Discrimination and patriarchal challenges
-
Sexual trauma and past experiences of domestic abuse
-
Eating disorders and body image concerns
-
Infertility, new motherhood, and post-partum depression
-
Identity
I believe in honouring and creating space for these experiences, allowing women to reconnect with their inner strength, break free from old patterns, and move forward in a way that feels authentic and empowering.

couples therapy

Relationships, no matter how strong, can face difficulties. Whether you're navigating communication challenges, trust issues, or shifting dynamics, couples therapy can help you both gain clarity, deepen connection, and foster meaningful change in your relationship.
I work with couples of all genders and relationship structures, including LGBTQI+ and non-traditional relationships. My approach is supportive and collaborative—helping each partner feel heard and understood, without judgment.
Together, we can explore:
-
Healthy communication and conflict resolution
-
Rebuilding trust after difficult life events
-
Emotional intimacy and connection
-
Relationship patterns that may be causing tension
-
Navigating major life transitions (parenthood, career shifts, loss, etc.)
For those who are open to it, I also integrate creative techniques into couples therapy, offering new ways to express emotions and understand one another beyond words.
Whether you're coming to therapy as an individual or as a couple, my intention is to offer a grounded, compassionate and inclusive space—one where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and appreciated for just being you.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What can I expect in my first therapy session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and explore what brought you to therapy. It’s a relaxed, judgment-free space where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. I will ask you questions such as what coping strategies do you have already? How would you know therapy has worked? This is all to ensure I understand what you need from therapy.
2. How long does each therapy session last?
Typically, sessions last about 50 minutes, giving us enough time to explore your concerns while respecting your schedule. For couples, sessions tend to be between 50-60 minutes.
3. How often should I attend therapy?
Weekly sessions are regarded as the most beneficial. Weekly helps to build the therapeutic relationship and is most consistent.

4. Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything you share stays between us, with some exceptions which I will explain clearly during our first session.

5. What can I do to get the most out of sessions?
Journalling after sessions is a good habit to get into, as it helps to consolidate what you want to remember from the session. It also can be useful to write down some key issues / topics that you would like to discuss. I will send you a welcome pack when you decide you would like to start with me. This contains more information about what you can do to get the most out of your sessions.
6. How do I know if therapy is working?
Progress looks different for everyone. We’ll regularly check in on how you’re feeling about the process and adjust our approach as needed to support your growth.
7. How much does it cost?
You can visit my 'prices' page for cost per session and block bookings.

7. Can I stop therapy at any time?
Absolutely. Therapy is your journey, and you have full control over when and how it progresses. If you decide to pause or stop, we can discuss the best way to do that.
